Description

In this course we will investigate the plant and animal life that make up the natural world in Aotearoa. This will involve field trips to the botanical gardens where we will find and photograph examples of different species. We will use these photos to create an identification guide using Google slides.

We will look at the role that plants play in our ecosystem and will conduct some practical experiments on plants.

We will also learn how to operate microscopes and then use these to find and identify different bugs and organisms that are too small to see with the naked eye.

By the end of this course you should be able to

  • identify a range of native plants and animals as well as some introduced species too.
  • set up and use both a compound and a dissecting microscope.
  • plan and conduct a scientific experiment.

Font - Matt @matttomic It's a good thing we named most of the dinosaurs like a hundred years ago when all we were into was mythology and speaking Latin, if they just learned about dinosaurs now and had to name 100s there'd be a Heckin Chonkosaurus and a Northern Thicc Scaleyboy
