This is a Hapori option that is split into two sessions. The first is classroom based 60 min session on a Tuesday afternoons. The second is a 120 min session on Friday mornings, which will be a physical workout, most often in Hagley Park.
This course is an adaption of previously run Aspire courses at Ao Tawhiti, where students are encouraged to learn more about themselves and their capabilities. This is done through unpacking our behaviours, our thoughts and our feelings and how we can go about making changes in these areas to grow closer to our potential.
Students will need to make a commitment to regular physical workouts. You don't necessarily need to be in peak physical condition, but you will need to be prepared to give your best in this space and look to improve.
In addition to the physical aspect of this course there will be regular classroom based sessions which will include; understanding wellness, habits of mind, emotional regulation, organisational skills, goal setting, reflection, injury prevention and recovery, team building, nutrition, and sports psychology.
