Te Ngakau o te Kura | Heart of the School

Time to put our cultural and historical narrative into our school again. What represents you and our local environment. Artworks designed by our students to last the next 20+ years. Students learn the tikanga (culture) behind it.  This opens up to other cultures as well to continue designing 'Legacy Artworks' for our school.

Let's learn to make our own: 

• Kōwhaiwhai/painted scroll ornamentation, 
• Tukutuku/Lattice,
• Whakairo/Carving.

Study the artworks of New Zealand Artists especially Māori and visiting galleries to inspire thoughtful artworks.  Going on a Marae Stay &/or visiting Marae to see many more artworks.
