Description

Have you ever wondered whether the 2 second rule is really a thing? Or what impact does temperature have on the growth of micro-organisms? What is the impact of physical activity on heart rate? Can you work out the science behind your results?

Ideas could even involve collecting survey data i.e what percentage of cars in Christchurch are EV's? What is the most common bird in the central city?

As a group we will run through some experiments together and then students will have the opportunity to run their own investigations.

As part of the learning journey students will investigate how the scientific method operates, learn how to present and analyse data, and how to come up with a valid conclusion.

By the end of the course, each student, or group of students will be able to present the findings of their experiment, either as a slideshow or a poster format.
