Welcome to Tiny English (you guys are the littlest, so are named accordingly). In this course, we'll get right into our novel study (novel will be chosen by the Term 1 class in Term 1), try your hand at some writing, watch interesting videos, listen to interesting people talk about things they know, and discover a love of books, stories and films. We'll do this by studying a novel that we choose together, studying a film that we choose together, and having a go at a few smaller things (poems, short stories, short films) along the way.
This class will involve discussions about concepts that we stumble upon in our reading, and lots of activities related to the texts we choose and our discussions. We'll start the year by exploring the world of reading, by first choosing a book as a class, and then studying it together (getting to know the characters, the setting, and becoming familiar with the ins and outs of the story).
You'll be expected to discuss things with us, and share your thoughts on what we cover and students that do this will be the ones that get the most out of this course. There will also be a strict no devices rule in this class, unless specifically required, so please make sure you'll be able to manage yourself with this in mind.
