Bring it Home

In this class, you are going to create a written, oral, or visual response to a novel, film, or short story that you have read. Your response will develop ideas about how the world of the text relates to your own community, society, or the wider world. Some things you might focus on include:

• an issue, problem, or idea in your text(s) that relates to the world depicted in that text
• elements of the setting, such as time or a specific place, and how it is similar or different to your own community, society, or world
• a conflict, such as internal conflict or conflict with another character, and how it compares to conflicts from your own community
• a significant event in the text(s) and how it compares to contemporary or historical events from your own community, society or world.
