States and Heat

This short term we're going to take a quick look at heat and states of matter. We'll look at how liquids release and absorb heat as they change state and quantify this. We'll do experiements to show the movement of heat via convection, radiation and conduction and explain how we use these effects in heating, cooling and insulating our buildings.

This course will seek to make you somewhat ready to move towards PESS 1.4 - Energy in Physical System.
