Hapori

A Hapori course is a non-curricular focused learning experience driven by student passion. Rooted in the concept of "hapori" or community, these courses empower students to explore diverse topics outside the traditional curriculum, fostering collaboration and a sense of ownership over their learning. With a focus on self-directed exploration, Hapori courses encourage students to pursue their interests, ranging from creative arts to technology and social issues. This initiative reflects our commitment to cultivating well-rounded individuals who are not only academically proficient but also deeply connected to their passions and the broader community.

Description

In this three week course, we travel to the CAC for the afternoon to undertake climate and environmentally friendly activities.  Expect to:

  • help out with gardening;
  • try some cooking from the garden; and
  • learn some new skills.

There may also be opportunities to sew, bike, paint, and construct, or work on your own projects if you already have something on the go.

Depending on numbers we will travel to the CAC on the public bus, leaving school during lunchtime - you can bring your lunch and eat it at the CAC. We'll leave the CAC around 2.30 to catch the bus back to school for 3pm.  Or you can arrange a pick up from the CAC.

Bring your:

  • snacks and water
  • outdoor clothes and sun protection
  • bus pass
  • any medication you require
