Activity:
Faces in things. Finding faces is the name of the game.
The grills of cars often create faces depending on the design of the car. Buttons or snaps on clothing can be seen as eyes. Wander around your own home and see how many faces you find. Faucets, drains, tile, wood floors … the list goes on.
Using your observation skills, search the school or around the city or at home or anywhere, for objects/arrangements that resemble the human face. Keep your eyes peeled!
The challenge is that you will have to look for these combinations of shapes. You probably have already seen many examples before.
You will need to have at least 15 - 30 images of objects/arrangements that resemble the human face (pareidolia).
In this course, you'll explore the foundations and conventions of photography using your phone or digital camera, exploring both the technical and artistic dimensions of photography. You'll learn how photographs are created, interpreted, and appreciated within diverse visual art contexts.
The curriculum includes an introduction to digital photographic processes, featuring Adobe Photoshop for enhancing and manipulating your images. You'll also have the opportunity to generate and refine your ideas, leading to an exhibition that showcases your best work.
Additionally, you'll experience traditional photographic techniques by producing images in the darkroom, adding a hands-on, tactile element to your learning.
