Financial Literacy
This course will introduce you to various topics that will help you towards becoming more financially literate.
The aim is for students to develop financial knowledge that can be transferred into everyday life, for now and for the future.
List of topics that will be covered in Term 1:
- Banking - Different banks and account types in NZ.
- Income - Different sources of income, careers and income tax.
- Kiwisaver - How it works and covering the basics.
- Flatting - Responsibilities of renting and being a good flatmate.
- Loaning Money - Why might you need to borrow money and from who?
This course will be continued into term 2 where other financial topics will be covered. This course is recommended if students think they may be interested in taking senior business studies later down the track.
