This class will teach about how traits are handed down the generations and how they change via natural selection leading to evolution. You'll learn to use punnett squares to determine the likelyhood of offspring having a particular genotype and to analyse traits within generations using pedigree charts. From there we'll look through the ages at the geological timescale.
From there we'll move to micro-organisms and learn about fungi, bacteria, viruses and how we can use them, and avoid their negative consequences.
Outcomes will be:
Predicts and analyses patterns of inheritance
Demonstrates understanding of evolutionary processes over time
Explains the role of microorganisms in everyday life.
You will need a pen, book, and clearfile (display book).
