Have you ever wanted to try your hand at coaching/leadership? Well this is your opportunity! We will learn different coaching strategies and leadership styles and apply these while coaching/leading younger students. Level 1 students, you don't necessarily need to coach others but will be involved in movement experiences. The sport we will do will be dependant on numbers.
Level 1
The assessment asks you to reflect on movement experiences in order to show the impact on hauora. You will apply Te Whare Tapa Wha.
AS90218 - 5 credits - Demonstrate understanding of the influence of personal movement experiences on hauora.
Level 2
The assessment requires you to select, apply and evaluate leadership strategies that contribute to the effective functioning of a team.
- AS91328 - 4 credits - Evaluate leadership strategies that contribute to the effective functioning of a group.
Level 3
The assessment requires you to research contemporary leadership principles, apply those principles to a range of physical activities.
- AS91499 - 4 credits - Examine contemporary leadership principles applied in physical activity contexts.
Level 2 and 3
There is also the opportunity to complete two practical assessments if you are participating in a sport outside of school. Please come and chat to me if you are interested. These credits will be offered in class in Term 3.
- AS91330 - 4 credits - Perform a physical activity in an applied setting (level 2).
- AS91501 - 4 credits - Demonstrate quality performance of a physical activity in an applied setting (level 3).
