Reading rocks, and there are many, many people in the world that think this. Let's have a go at finding this same eagerness for an activity that is so beneficial and enriching for us. In this course, we'll engage in an in-depth novel study. We'll do this by sampling a bunch of books and having taster discussions before choosing one to read together.
This class will involve elaborate discussions about concepts that we stumble upon in our reading, and lots of activities related to the book and our discussions. You can expect to engage in writing activities, reading activities, research things, games and absorbing heaps of interesting material like podcasts, scientific studies, and videos. Across the term we'll have a go at becoming better readers and writers, and we'll work together to try and transfer the love of reading that lots of us already have to some that maybe aren't so sure yet. What a cool feat that'll be.
You'll be expected to discuss things with us, and share your thoughts on what we cover and students that do this will be the ones that get the most out of this course. (Oh no, talking! But just let it happen, because it's not that bad, and you'll be all the richer for it!)
There will be a strict no devices rule in this class, unless specifically required, so please make sure you'll be able to manage yourself with this in mind.
