Description

This course is designed for Year 10, and possibly capable Year 9, students contemplating NCEA level 1 in the second half of the year, or current Level 6 students looking for an alternative NCEA subject for the remainder of the year (Design and Visual Communication). 

 

The focus is on using a range of methods (sketching, models, renders, tee squares and software) to design a small house. Students will then create a set of drawings, renders and plans using Archicad. The course will run until Senior students leave for study leave and students will be entered into two Level 1 externally assessed Achievement Standards. These being;

 

AS92002 Develop product or spatial design ideas informed by the consideration of people (5 credits).

 

AS92003 Use instrumental drawing techniques to communicate own product or spatial design outcome (5 credits).
