Hapori

A Hapori course is a non-curricular focused learning experience driven by student passion. Rooted in the concept of "hapori" or community, these courses empower students to explore diverse topics outside the traditional curriculum, fostering collaboration and a sense of ownership over their learning. With a focus on self-directed exploration, Hapori courses encourage students to pursue their interests, ranging from creative arts to technology and social issues. This initiative reflects our commitment to cultivating well-rounded individuals who are not only academically proficient but also deeply connected to their passions and the broader community.

Description

Welcome to the CAC orange hapori. This is our last course this year.  Options for the five week block are:

  1. Preparing for the CAC market on Saturday 25 October.  This is a large event with over 60 stalls, food trucks, games, live music, murals and plants.  Students currently in the class have been making and growing things to sell.  We will have three weeks left to get ready.

  2. Working on your own climate or environment project.  Current students have sewing, art and toy making projects.

  3. Joining in with the Pollination Street project where we weed, plant and advocate for the bees.

As a new student to the class, there are options for you to join in with any or all of the above. Come along and we'll find you something to do.

On Thursday afternoons at school, we’ll be in the classroom inquiring into climate and environmental topics and planning for our Wednesday sessions.

  1. Open to anyone in years 7-13.
  2. Caregivers and students should look out for an email with information about transport and what to bring a few days before the first class.
  3. We go whatever the weather so dress appropriately
