Description
a baby is sitting in a walker in a living room with the words `` so much energy ! ''

Tauira taking this course should have a notes book to write in, a pen and a calculator.

We'll begin by looking at all the different types of energy, and how they're conserved in physical interactions. We'll categorise energies into potential or kinetic energy and learn about how they do work. We'll use Newton's Laws to understand the forces they create.

You will also work on an individual Science Fair project - this can be from any area of Science that you have an interest in. We will be supported with this by Georgia - an undergraduate scientist from the University of Canterbury, including a visit to the University. There will be within-school competition with the other L5 classes, and the best entries will be encouraged to go on to represent themselves and the school in the NIWA Canterbury-Westland competition.

Forces, Electricity and Magnetism.

  • Identify and describe the patterns associated with physical phenomena found in simple everyday situations involving movement, forces, electricity and magnetism, light, sound, waves, and heat.
