Description

To kick off the term, we’ll sharpen our drawing skills using still-life setups—learning how to make everyday objects look bold, realistic, and expressive. We’ll focus on core techniques like shading, proportion, line work, and composition, giving you the confidence to draw what you see and what you imagine.

We’ll also dive into the exciting world of art history, exploring how artists have broken the rules to change the way we see art. Movements like Cubism, led by creative risk-takers such as Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, will inspire us to experiment, take chances, and think differently about shape and form.

To push our work even further, we’ll explore mixed-media techniques, combining different materials to add texture, depth, and personality to our artworks. This course is all about building skills, discovering your style, and having the freedom to experiment and create with confidence.

To stay organised throughout the term, each of us will use A3 brown folders labeled with our names and home base. These folders will help us easily identify and store our work as we progress.
