This is a continuation of the same course offered in Term One.
At the beginning of the term, we'll finish off our novel study of The Giver. This will involve continued discussions about concepts that we stumble upon in our reading, other tangential material that will be related to the things we discuss, and a variety of making/analysing activities. Once we've finished this, we'll move onto film! Through our close study of a film, we'll learn film techniques and new language associated with this cool medium.
If you've been in my classes, you'll know that I'm a big fan of discussions and sharing our thoughts and opinions so that our conversations can be valuable for everyone. Because of this, you'll be expected to talk to me and to your classmates! Sharing your thoughts on what we cover will mean you get lots out of this class, and it'll also prepare you for English classes as you get older (wiser) and wrinklier (more surface area).
