This course introduces students to the world of painting through hands-on exploration of colour, materials, and composition. Students will learn the basics of colour theory, including how colours interact to create mood and communicate ideas, while experimenting with a range of painting techniques and media.
Students will deepen their understanding of colour by studying the Fauvist art movement, using artists such as Henri Matisse and others as inspiration for their own work.
This course is ideal for students who enjoy being creative, experimenting with materials, and expressing themselves visually. No prior painting experience is required - just curiosity and a willingness to try new ideas.
To stay organised throughout the term, each of us will use A3 brown folders labeled with our names and home base. These folders will help us easily identify and store our work as we progress.
