Welcome to Senior English (with an arty sprinkle).
Term two will continue on from what we began in Term One. This will involve finishing off our novel study of Klara and The Sun, and getting underway with an assessment (students will choose which assessment pathway they take, in negotiation with Beth). After we've finished our novel, we'll get underway with a film study, and all the associated extras - discussions, activities and accompanying videos/stories to help us deepen our understanding of the topics involved.
After our initial novel, students will have the opportunity to get started on an assessment. Typical choices are:
- English 2.6 - Create a visual text (3 credits)
- English 2.7 - Connections across texts (4 credits)
- English 3.7 - Connections across texts (4 credits)
- Visual Arts 2.3 - Approach to design briefs (4 credits)
As always, your success in classes like this is related to how much you participate/engage with the content, the discussions and the activities. Come along with your interesting stories and willingness to involve yourself, and we'll have a great year, nerding it up with some cool literature! :)
