This term will be focused on tramping and bushcraft initially. This will include working towards a 3 day tramp as a class. The preparation and planning prior to the journey will be assessed as will navigation, route finding, teamwork and self management on the tramp.
The second half of the term will concentrate on orienteering and rogaines. These are essential skills in the outdoors and will equip you with some value knowledge. There will be opportunities to compete in some local orienteering races in your own time if you would like to do so, including fun night rogaines. Assessment will involve completion of various courses independently. The final weeks of the term will be centred around bushcraft skills including shelter building, fire lighting and survival skills.
No previous experience is needed for this term. However there are limited spaces in this class and preference will be given to those that have taken it in term 1.
