¡Hola otra vez! This beginner Spanish course continues from the work we began in Term 2.
So far, students have started building confidence with everyday Spanish words and phrases. We have practised greetings, introducing people, describing people and animals, talking about likes and dislikes, places around town, and using simple questions and answers in short conversations, stories, and dialogues.
In Term 3, we will build on this foundation by combining the language we already know in longer and more flexible ways. Students will continue developing their speaking and listening confidence, while also expanding their vocabulary and using Spanish to understand and create simple stories, conversations, songs, and classroom activities.
The course will continue to include games, speaking practice, structured activities, and short interactive tasks. The focus is on recognising common patterns, remembering useful phrases, and becoming more confident using Spanish with other people.
Students who joined in Term 2 will be able to build on what they already know. New students are also welcome, as the course will still be accessible to beginners and we will revisit key language along the way.
Spanish is widely spoken around the world and is a useful language for travel and communication. It also shares similarities with other languages such as French and Italian, which can support future language learning.
No prior experience is required, but students should be willing to participate, practise, and try using Spanish with others in the class.
