Welcome to English for designers. This term, the focus is on creation. We'll begin by looking at a few short texts/films to create little zine versions of our favourite ones. In this course, you can expect to study some texts, brush up on digital design skills (using Photopea/Adobe Illustrator), and plan and create your own little zine, that is a visual representation of your favourite stories.
If you've been in my classes, you'll know that I'm a big fan of discussions and sharing thoughts and opinions, so that our conversations are valuable for everyone. As a result of this, you'll be expected to talk to me and to your classmates! Sharing your thoughts on what we cover will mean you get lots out of this class, and it'll also prepare you for English classes as you get older (wiser) and wrinklier (more surface area).
Alongside discussions, there'll be a focus on developing (or expanding) your digital art software skills. Those of you with your own computers will be able to work on your own, so you're encouraged to bring these along!
