Description
This is a closed course for this term. It requires students to have done 678OED in previous terms. If you have previous tramping experience and would like to enter for this term, please come and see Nic.
This term will be focused on alpine skills, navigation, survival skills, design/construction of outdoor equipment and introduction to rock climbing. It involves at least one 4 day trip into alpine terrain to experience snow travel - snow shoeing, cross country skiing, crampons/ice axe use and construction of snow caves. Wednesday double periods will focus on survival skills, bouldering, rope skills and making a piece of outdoor clothing or gear.
