Description

[R13 Content in video we watch]. Where did the universe come from? Could it have started from Nothing? There are scientific and religious answers to this question. But what exactly is science? What is religion? How do these fields of study actually work? Can either of these fields provide us with reliable information about the world? We need philosophy to answer these questions.

During this block we will explore a range of arguments for and against the existence of God. We will then question whether God (or any other supernatural cause) is required to explain the existence of the universe. These ideas will be contrasted with leading scientific theories. Finally, we will address the scientific question: are we alone in the universe?
