In number Tauira will:
- Use prime numbers, common factors and multiples, and powers (including square roots)
- Understand operations on fractions, decimals, percentages, and integers
- Practise order of operations
- Use standard form
The course run's in Karaka, which is taught for one hour on Tuesday and two hours on Friday. One hour of this course on Friday will be taught by Derek and students will be assigned "homework" to be completed each week. Having set work and challenges to do outside of class time should help compensate for only 3 hours of math in 2 days per week. This may be completed in homebase time and students are encouraged to seek assistance from Derek and Greg during this time if they need it.
