Document outlining 2024 Mathematics plan.
This class is for year 7 and 8 students who are working at this level who need to focus on fundamental mathematical skills and knowledge.
Areas we will be working on are the basics of addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, number knowledge and enjoyment of math. This class is designed to help you build understanding and confidence in mathematics using repetition and fun to help you learn, and prepare you for future mathematical inquiry and learning.
This term we will be learning about you as a math learner, with some assessments and figuring out the areas you need to work on. In Term One we will also be working on times tables, time and place value. You will also learn how to use our Ao Tawhiti core values in a in a supportive and collaborative learning environment.
For this class you need: a math book (1E5 or similar), a math scrapbook (to glue some math work into), and your own pens pencils, glue stick ruler etc.
Note: Unless you progress very quickly it is expected that this will be your math class for the whole year.
