Project-based Maths

To be numerate, you need to be able to use numbers in everyday decision making, and to convince other people that a particular option is suitable or preferable for them. This involves the use of adding/subtracting, multiplication/division, fractions, percentages and ratios. In this course, you will learn some base skills for numeracy and put them into action through a project that is presented to the class at the end of the term. The project will centre around your choice of purchasing a car, property or investment.

Following an introduction, each class will begin with around 10min of teaching followed by supported work towards your project. You have the option of using Education Perfect to hone your skills and will be expected to work on your number skills independently outside class time.
