Pāngarau | Mathematics - Patterns, Relationships and Problem Solving

4MAT with Sam will venture gently into more abstract content in Term Three.

We will do more problem solving this term, focusing on our logic and reasoning. We will also study patterns and relationships, and introduce some formal Algebra as a way of preparing students for 5MAT and beyond. The goal is to develop students' understanding of mathematical language and reasoning, and to be creative and have fun as well.

This course will be delivered in a structured way with a focus on the core skills. However there will be opportunities for students to work at a flexible pace, and apply their learning to real life contexts.
