Document outlining 2024/2025 Mathematics plan.

Note that levels 4 and 5 are intended to be two year programmes.

Description

Tauira will be learning about probability through these activities:

Planning and Conducting Experiments

  • Formulating a question for a chance-based situation.
  • Identifying and listing all possible outcomes in the sample space.
  • Developing a theoretical model and predicting outcomes based on probability.
  • Designing a plan for the experiment, including the number of trials, tools to be used, and data recording methods.

Collecting and Analyzing Data

  • Conducting a large number of trials using digital tools to simulate the experiment.
  • Recording and organizing the collected data.
  • Creating visual representations (e.g., graphs, charts) to display the distribution of both observed (experimental) and theoretical outcomes.

Interpreting and Reflecting

  • Finding and interpreting probability estimates from the experimental data.
  • Identifying and explaining potential reasons for any differences between the experimental results and the theoretical predictions.
