Description
This term we’ll learn about chance and luck!
We'll look at how likely are to happen, from rolling dice and flipping coins to predicting the weather or the outcome of a sports match. We’ll use experiments, games, and everyday contexts to test our ideas, compare results, and learn the difference between what we expect to happen and what actually does happen.
Students will learn to:
- Use everyday words to describe the chance of events.
- Calculate probabilities using fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Carry out experiments (like coin flips or dice rolls) and compare their results with the theory.
- Recognise variation and think about how sample size affects reliability.
- Communicate what they’ve found using clear statements and simple displays.
Probability isn’t just about maths. It’s about making sense of the chances we take every day.
