Note that levels 4 and 5 are intended to be two year programmes.
In this Phase 3 mathematics class, students will build strong foundational number skills, particular focus on multiplication and division, while delving into the world of shapes and sizes - yes we will be covering Measurement and geometry in Term 2. Students will develop confidence and fluency through regular practice and deepen their understanding by explaining their thinking and making connections between ideas.
Lessons are designed to balance skill-building with curiosity and challenge. Games and collaborative tasks will make learning engaging and enjoyable and students will have some opportunities for extension, allowing them to explore more complex shapes and measurements and stretch their mathematical thinking.
This course supports learners at Phase 3 of the NZ Curriculum, encouraging perseverance, problem-solving, and a positive mindset as students grow as capable and confident mathematicians.
You will need a Math book and pencil case including pencil, rubber and ruler and anything else you like using.
