Mathematics & Statistics
Document outlining 2024/2025 Mathematics plan.
Note that levels 4 and 5 are intended to be two year programmes.
This 6MAT class will be taught in two groups by Sam and Daniel, as it was in Terms One and Two.
We will focus on Algebra Skills in working towards NCEA Achievement Standard 1.4, which is an External standard that is assessed at the end of the year.
The topics we will cover this term include:
- Manipulating Algebraic Equations
- Graphing Algebraic Functions
- Quadratic and Exponential Algebra
There will be the opportunity to apply these to solve real life multi-step problems.
This course requires a strong understanding of Algebra from Maths in the Junior School, and is extremely useful for anyone looking to do further study in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
