Science uses three main branches of Mathematics. Algebra is the language of the universe. It communicates how things move and change and will be the most important thing to learn as you advance your scientific inquiry.
Trigonometry allows us access to more than one dimension. As soon as a ball is thrown into the air, we need to know about more than one thing.
Statistical literacy is the ability to comprehend, analyze, and draw meaningful conclusions from numerical data and statistics.
This course will introduce you to all three concepts. Greg will teach the algebra and then the trigonometry on the Tuesday and Wednesday; and Larisa will teach statistics on the Monday.
For this course you will need a mathbook (1E5), pen and scientific calculator (preferably Casio). A ruler is always helpful too.
