Number Skills, Mental Math and Financial Literacy

This course will teach you the most important everyday numeracy skills:

- Adding and subtracting numbers including decimals

- Squaring, multiplying and dividing numbers in your head

- Using fractions and percentages without a calculator

We will then apply these skills to understand core ideas of financial literacy:

- The power of compound interest

- How our tax system works and could be improved

- How banks provide savings accounts, credit cards and loans 

- Why you should consider signing up to Kiwisaver

- What rich people do with their money and why inequality is a rising global problem
