Document outlining 2024 Mathematics plan.
Note that levels 4 and 5 are intended to be two year programmes.
This term we will be working on one of the brand new Level 1 standards "Use mathematical methods to explore problems that relate to life in Aotearoa New Zealand or the Pacific." This is a 5 credit internal that will be assessed in a report format.
We will be revising and extending:
1.) number concepts - percentages, fractions and ratios etc.
2.) measurement skills e.g. area, volume, surface area, measurement conversions
3.) Pythagoras and trigonometry.
Then we will use all these skills to solve a problem in the real world.
To be successful in this course you will need to turn up to every class with a maths exercise book, a pen, and a scientific calculator.
