Measurement Skills & Project

This class covers the internal assessment standard 91030 "Apply measurement in solving problems" and is worth 3 NCEA Level 1 credits. The first half of the term will focus on teaching and learning the core skills of measuring perimeter, surface area and volume of different shapes. It will be teacher led and include the use of Education Perfect, including outside class time. The second half of the term will be the assessment in the form of a project and presentation of your choice that demonstrates the skills learned in the first half. This means that you will not be assessed in a traditional test or exam.

Confidence in basic number skills such as adding/subtracting, multiplying/dividing and the use of mathematical formula will be necessary to succeed in this course.
